FIT FOR A KING
In 1895 a gentleman of rather dubious nature know as Gordon Chetwynd
sold what was know as Rutland Cottage to the 5th Earl of Cadogan. The
Earl numbered amongst his closest friends Edward Price of Wales later
to become King Edward VII.
Rumour has it that the King himself was a frequent visitor to Rutland
Cottage and was known to have entertained the beautiful Miss Lilly
Langtry. Underground passages are said to exist between the Cadogan
Hotel and the Kings Quarters at the Palace House.
